Low-cost carrier Norwegian said on Tuesday it had ordered 15 Boeing 737-800 medium-haul jets with a list price of $1.2 billion (836 million euros).

Norwegian Air Shuttle ASA, listed in Oslo, says it is the second-biggest airline in Scandinavia and the third-biggest low-cost airline in Europe.

More than 13 million passengers flew with the airline in 2010, according to the company's website, with 97 destinations.
