SART-CUSTINNE, Belgium, July 21 (AFP) - Belgian investigators digging for the body of a young woman allegedly killed by a self-confessed serial killer have completed their search without making any discovery, police said Wednesday.

"We have finished here and we found absolutely nothing," Thierry Wouters, a Belgian police official told reporters.

The search took place at Frenchman Michel Fourniret's home near Sart-Custinne in southern Belgium where his wife, Monique Olivier, says he buried the body of an au-pair girl who disappeared in 1993.

Fourniret, 62, a carpenter, has already confessed to nine murders in France and Belgium, eight of them of girls and women, between 1987 and 2001. But he denies killing the au-pair.
