Nigeria hostage ordeal 'like being in prison': American
An American oil worker freed along with 18 other hostages by the Nigerian military said Thursday the crisis was "like being in a prison."
"I can't imagine anyone ever having to go through this situation," James Robertson, who was abducted in a raid on a support vessel and Transocean-owned oil rig last week, said after a press conference on their release.
"It's very emotional. It's like being in a prison. You have a certain amount of freedom, but you have to be careful what you say or do."
Robertson appeared weary, but in good spirits following the military operation on Wednesday that led to the freeing of the hostages.
A French hostage abducted in the same raid, Gilles Mignon, said "it's great to be free. That's all I can say."
The two men were abducted in the early hours of November 8. The group of 19 hostages were believed to have been abducted in three separate incidents.
