New swine flu cases bring total to 15 in France

A new case of Swine flu brings the total number of infected to 15 in France.

PARIS – Another two cases of swine flu have been confirmed in France, bringing the total number of people infected here to 15, Health Minister Roselyne Bachelot said Monday.

The two new cases were people who had recently returned from New York, she told France Inter radio.

Ten of the other cases involved people who recently returned from Mexico, the epicentre of the global epidemic, two had just flown home from New York, and one from California, French health authorities have said.

Worldwide, the death toll from swine flu has passed 50 after Costa Rica reported its first fatality from the virus, officially known as A(H1N1) influenza, and the United States confirmed a third death.
