New IMF head must be named in days: French ruling party
A replacement for Dominique Strauss-Kahn as head of the IMF after his arrest on sex assault charges must be named "in the coming days", the leader of the French governing UMP party said on Wednesday.
"I don't see how he can carry out the job as managing director of the IMF. So, by definition, this question will have to be settled in the coming days," the UMP leader Jean-Francois Cope told reporters after a party meeting.
Strauss-Kahn is in jail in New York facing charges that he sexually assaulted and tried to rape a hotel maid.
