Monti to meet with Sarkozy and Cameron
Italian Prime Minister Mario Monti will travel to Paris on Friday for eurozone debt crisis talks with French President Nicholas Sarkozy, a government spokeswoman in Rome said Tuesday.
Monti is set to lunch with Prime Minister Francois Fillon, before attending a conference organised by the industry minister Eric Besson. The Italian premier will then meet Sarkozy at 1700 GMT.
On January 18, Monti will travel to London to meet with British Prime Minister David Cameron ahead of the next European Union summit on January 30.
Last Thursday, Monti called for a "united, joint and convincing response" to the debt crisis from the European Union, stressing that recent problems for Italy on the markets were linked to wider difficulties in Europe.
The former eurocrat also said the eurozone's bailout fund, the European Financial Stability Facility (EFSF), was "very inadequate".
