PARIS, Jan 7 (AFP) - France World Cup and Euro 2000 winning full-back Bixente Lizarazu walked out on Marseille after a clash with new coach Philippe Troussier.

The 35-year-old has returned to former club Bayern Munich on a free transfer after just six months at Marseille.

"I realised we didn't operate on the same wavelength. Within 48 hours of him arriving I knew I wouldn't be in the team," he told sports daily l'Equipe.

Lizarazu left Bayern last summer after a successful seven-year stint. He returns for the remainder of the season to solve the German club's left back problem and is also eligible for the Champions League.

Lizarazu retired from international football after France crashed out of Euro 2004.

He won the Champions League, four national titles, three German Cups, five League Cups and the Intercontinental Cup with Bayern.
