PARIS, Sept 30 (AFP) - An unnamed player tested positive for a banned stimulant at the French Open in June, l'Equipe sports daily reported Friday.

The ATP, the governing body of the professional men's tennis circuit, declined to name the player until he had passed before a three-man panel. The offence carries a two-year ban unless the player can supply extenuating circumstances.

The test was carried out in the second week of the tournament at Roland Garros.
