South Korea's Korean Air agreed to buy up to 30 Bombardier CS300 regional aircraft, becoming the first Asian airline to take the plane, the Canadian manufacturer said Tuesday.

Bombardier said it signed a letter of intent with Korean Air for the sale of 10 CS300, plus an option on another 10 and a right to buy a further 10 of the CS300 series in due course.

Korean Air, one of Asia's biggest airlines, has a fleet of 136 jets and operates services to 112 cities in 39 countries.
