Kirsten Dunst wins Cannes actress award for von Trier movie
US actress Kirsten Dunst on Sunday won the Cannes festival's award for best actress for her portrayal of a depressed woman at the end of the world in Lars von Trier's 'Melancholia'.
"Well, what a week it's been," Dunst said after controversial Danish director von Trier was kicked out of the festival for joking that he was a Nazi who sympathised with Hitler.
"I'd like to say thank you to the Cannes film festival for allowing the film to be in competition, it's such a special night for me," she said, also thanking von Trier for casting her.
