Several papers suggested that Johnny Hallyday wanted to become Belgian to move to Monaco and benefit from a better tax deal offered only to Belgian citizens.

The commission, composed of 17 members, agreed to a six-month delay to investigate this claim, amongst others.

Johnny Hallyday recently moved to Switzerland in order to pay less taxes and commented on the French tax regime in the media in the midst of the French presidential campaign.
