A court in Naples has approved the extradition to France of a suspected Islamist militant arrested earlier this month with bomb-making literature, an informed source told AFP on Friday.

Ryad Hannouni, a 28-year-old French-Algerian with French citizenship, was detained near Naples train station on October 2 on a European arrest warrant.

Hannouni now has 10 days to appeal the extradition.

The police suspect the man arrived in Naples in early September and had previously fought on the Afghanistan-Pakistan border, investigators said.

French police earlier arrested three men -- two in Marseille and one in Bordeaux -- after finding their numbers in Hannouni's mobile phone.
