PARIS, April 13 (AFP) - Israel's Deputy Prime Minister Shimon Peres and Defence Minister Shaul Mofaz will be in Paris this weekend for a rally called to support Israel's "courageous efforts" for peace, organisers said Wednesday.

Peres and Mofaz will speak at the Sunday event - "Israel, I Love You" - sponsored by the Association of Support for Israel (ASI) and other French Jewish groups.

Organisers said the goal of the day-long rally at the Porte de Versailles convention centre was to "show the people and leaders of Israel unconditional support for their courageous efforts" at making peace with the Palestinians.

Several debates will be held throughout the day. The event will close with a catwalk show featuring the work of Israeli fashion designers and a concert.
