IMF ups France growth forecast to 2% in 2011 and 2012
The International Monetary Fund sharply raised its growth forecast for France to two percent this year and next, from 1.6 and 1.8 percent respectively, the French economy minister said on Wednesday.
Minister Christine Lagarde unveiled an embargoed IMF report in which the global lender brought its forecast into line with France's own target of two percent growth.
The report by the global lender warned the French government to be "realistic" in its budget plans despite the stronger forecast, however.
