IMF chief charges carry 70 plus years in prison

The seven charges against IMF chief Dominique Strauss-Kahn carry a maximum total sentence of 74 years and three months in jail, court documents showed Monday.

"The defendant engaged in oral sexual conduct and anal sexual conduct with another person by forcible compulsion," read the first sentence of the charge sheet, which listed seven separate alleged offenses.

The allegations listed were two counts of criminal sexual acts in the first degree, one of attempted rape in the first degree, one of sexual abuse in the first degree, one of unlawful imprisonment in the second degree, one of sexual abuse in the 3rd degree, and one of a forcible touching.

The criminal sexual acts carry maximum terms of 25 years while the other charges carry terms ranging between three months for forcible touching to seven years for sexual abuse in the first degree.
