AJACCIO, France, May 11 (AFP) - The private British airline GB Airways will on Sunday to begin a weekly service between London and the town of Bastia on Corsica, the French Mediterranean island's tourist board said on Tuesday.

AJACCIO, France, May 11 (AFP) - The private British airline GB Airways will on Sunday to begin a weekly service between London and the town of Bastia on Corsica, the French Mediterranean island's tourist board said on Tuesday.

The inaugural flight will take off from London's Gatwick airport and land at Bastia on Sunday. Service could be expanded to two flights a week from summer 2005 if demand calls for such a move, the tourist board said.

GB Airways is a franchise partner of British Airways but remains fully
independent.
