LYON, France, Nov 14 (AFP) - A French teenager who sounded a false alarm about an airport bomb to prevent her mother catching her at home with her boyfriend was sentenced to four months' prison Monday.

Police said the 18-year-old made the call on Friday from a friend's house in a bid to delay her mother, who was due to arrive on a return flight to Lyon from the Ivory Coast.

Border police evacuated 1,500 people from the Lyon Saint-Exupéry airport, leading to the delay of 50 flights, which cost airlines an estimated EUR 400,000, and disrupting train services.

The teenager was sentenced to a year in prison, with eight months suspended.
