The French economy is set for growth in 2010 of 1.6 percent -- higher than the government forecast released a day earlier -- said the statistics office, a minister said on Thursday.

The forecast from the official statistics institute INSEE, revealed by Budget Minister Francois Baroin, was higher than the 1.5 percent in the government's budget released on Wednesday.
