SAUMUR, France, Dec 11 (AFP) - Seven people have been arrested in different parts of France after a long police investigation into paedophile pornographic ring, police said Thursday.

The swoops, which occurred over the past few days, stemmed from the October 2002 arrest of a 23-year-old man who allegedly used a computer at his work, a horse-riding school in the central town of Saumur, to download and send naked pictures of children.

Police said a year-long investigation led them to the seven other suspects, who were all put under criminal investigation.
