Around 198,000 people demonstrated in France against pension reform around midday Thursday, the interior ministry said, noting a "clear drop compared to previous days" of protest.

The interior ministry put the number of protestors on the last day of action on October 19 at 480,000 and at 500,000 on October 12, with nationwide strikes and protests apparently losing steam after parliament passed the law Wednesday.
