French oil hostages freed in Nigeria back in France: airport
Two French oil workers among 19 foreigners freed from a kidnap ordeal in the oil-rich Niger Delta by Nigeria's military arrived back in France on Friday, an airport source told AFP.
The pair flew in to Paris Charles de Gaulle airport in the early hours, the source said, after they were freed during an operation on Wednesday night in the Niger Delta, the heart of one of the world's largest oil industries.
The hostages, who also included American, Canadian, French, Indonesian and Nigerian nationals, were presented to journalists in Nigeria on Thursday and appeared in relatively good health.
The Frenchmen were kidnapped on the night of November 7-8.
