The French trade balance registered an increased deficit in November of EUR3.869 billion from EUR3.712 billion in October, adjusted data from the customs service showed on Friday.

This took the cumulative deficit over 12 months to EUR50.587 billion, the budget ministry said in a statement.

The ministry said that the volume of trade had increased sharply in November after depressed activity in October owing to strikes.

In November, exports totalled EUR35.001 billion and imports EUR38.870 billion.
