French official industrial orders flat in February
French industrial orders stagnated in February, edging up by a monthly 0.1 percent following a gain of 0.8 percent in January, figures released on Friday by the national statistics office showed.
A breakdown of the data revealed that foreign orders were 1.5 percent lower in February, whereas they had expanded by 0.1 percent in January.
A comparison of the three months from December through February gave French industry a 1.2 percent gain from the September-November period, and a rise of 3.1 percent from December 2010 through February 2011.
The three-month quarterly increase was in large part the result of a 7.5 percent rise in auto sector orders, the statistics office said.
