RIO DE JANEIRO, Feb 27, 2007 (AFP) - Three French nationals, two men and a woman, were found murdered in the offices of a Brazilian NGO in the Copacabana neighborhood of Rio de Janeiro, police said Tuesday.

A French diplomat here, Hugues Goisbault, told AFP that the three people, whose identities were not released, were residents of Brazil and had been working for Terra Ativa, a non-governmental organization assisting young farmers.

A suspect in the killings has been arrested, authorities said.

Police said traces of blood were found on the walls where the victims were found and that cupboards and drawers had been ransacked.
