PARIS, Oct 3 (AFP) - The French, Germans and Poles are more likely to have a bad opinion of the European Union than the British or Spanish, according to an opinion poll published Monday.

Asked if belonging to the EU gave them the feeling of living better, worse or neither, 41 percent of the French said worse, as did 34 percent of Germans and 33 percent of Poles.

In Britain only 24 percent said worse, while in Spain the figure was just 13 percent.

The survey was carried out by the Sofres institute for the Franco-German television station Arte, and its results were published in Le Monde newspaper.
