French industrial output spurts

French industrial output rallied sharply in November, expanding by 2.3 percent from activity in October when it fell by 0.8 percent, the official statistics institute INSEE reported on Monday.

Output by the manufacturing sector, which excludes contruction and mining activity, also rose by 2.2 percent.

In the three months from September to November, output by the industrial and by the manufacturing sectors rose by 0.6 percent from output for the previous three months.

Output by the manufacturing sector for the latest three months was 4.9-percent higher than activity in the same period of 2009.
