French industrial orders rebound: official data

French industrial orders jumped 2.6 percent in March after falling for two months running but were down 0.5 percent in the first quarter compared with the previous three months, official data showed on Thursday.

Compared with first quarter 2009, industrial orders were up 8.5 percent, reflecting the recovery from the trough of the worst global slump in decades, according to figures from statistics institute INSEE.

March export orders rose 2.9 percent from February, it added.
