French hostages will be picked up in Cyprus

PARIS, Dec 22 (AFP) - French President Jacques Chirac's office confirmed Wednesday that two reporters freed after four months as hostages in Iraq will be picked up by an airforce jet in Cyprus to fly home.

PARIS, Dec 22 (AFP) - French President Jacques Chirac's office confirmed Wednesday that two reporters freed after four months as hostages in Iraq will be picked up by an airforce jet in Cyprus to fly home.

Journalists Christian Chesnot and Georges Malbrunot will be collected by a 14-seater jet which left Paris earlier Wednesday with Foreign Minister Michel Barnier and a few relatives on board, the Elysee palace said.
