TOKYO, Nov 25 (AFP) - France's envoy to promote international investment met Thursday with Japanese government and industry leaders in a push for more trade between the two countries.

Clara Gaymard, head of the Invest in France Agency, said "Japanese investment is a priority for France" and that she would take the message to Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi at a meeting Friday.

Gaymard met leaders of giants Toyota, Sony, Bridgestone and Mitsubishi Electric as well as Shoichi Nakawaga, minister for economy, trade and industry.

Some 400 Japanese businesses are present in France, accounting for EUR 8.1 billion (USD 10.7 billion) in investment as of the end of 2002, according to the French embassy in Tokyo.
