French economy shows signs of slowing
The French economy continues to slow, as industrial output slumped badly, official data showed Wednesday.
Industrial production in June fell 1.6 percent from May when it showed a gain of 1.9 percent, French statistics agency INSEE said.
Manufacturing output alone slumped 1.9 percent, more than reversing a rise of 1.4 percent in May.
Meanwhile, the current account deficit -- the broadest measure of a country's trade performance -- narrowed to 3.4 billion euros ($4.86 billion) from a deficit of 5.5 billion euros in May, the central bank said.
