French divers to search for missing Israeli diplomat

PARIS, Jan 25, 2007 (AFP) - French divers were Thursday to search the River Seine for the body of a missing Israeli diplomat whose abandoned car was discovered at the water's edge in the northwestern city of Rouen, police said.

PARIS, Jan 25, 2007 (AFP) - French divers were Thursday to search the River Seine for the body of a missing Israeli diplomat whose abandoned car was discovered at the water's edge in the northwestern city of Rouen, police said.

David Dahan, 54, went missing overnight Sunday night from his apartment near the Israeli embassy in Paris. He was known to be be depressed over his wife's recent petition for divorce.

Dahan's car was found on Wednesday, locked and empty near by the river in Rouen. French investigators have not ruled out the possibility of a suicide, based on the contents of a letter found in his apartment.
