PARIS, Nov 18 (AFP) - France's current account showed a provisional, seasonally-adjusted deficit of EUR 158 million (USD 206 million) in September compared with a revised deficit of 1.925 billion in August, the Finance Ministry said Thursday.

The August current account deficit had originally been reported as EUR 1.5 billion.

The current account is a broad measure of a country's external commercial relations, measuring trade in goods, services and some other financial transactions.

In September, French exports increased by 3.7 percent while imports were 0.1 percent lower.

France's seasonally-adjusted deficit totalled EUR 2.283 billion for the first nine months of the year compared with a surplus of 4.225 billion in the same period a year earlier.
