PARIS, Jan 18 (AFP) - France's current account deficit narrowed sharply in November to a provisional EUR 302 million (USD 393 million) from EUR 1.204 billion one month earlier, the finance ministry said Tuesday.

The seasonally-adjusted deficit totalled EUR 5.8 billion in the first 11 months of 2004 however, compared with a surplus of EUR 3.2 billion in the same period one year earlier.

The current account is a broad measure of a country's external commercial relations, measuring trade in goods, services and some other financial transactions.
