PARIS, June 14 (AFP) - French consumer prices rose 0.1 percent in May compared with the month before, and were up 1.5 percent in the 12-month period, buoyed by tourist activities before summer and a rise in the price of fresh produce, the French statistics office Insee said.

The pickup of prices for fresh fruit was offset by a marked drop in energy costs.   Inflation as calculated on a European Union harmonised basis, was zero on a monthly basis and 1.7 percent over 12 months.
