French consumer confidence picks up: official data

French consumer confidence picked up further in November but remains well below its long-term average, official data showed on Thursday.

The INSEE statistics institute said the November reading of consumer confidence rose two points from October to minus 32, compared with the long-term average of minus 19.

French consumer confidence fell for the much of this year but began to recover in September.
