French car makers reduce production

PARIS, Feb 19, 2007 (AFP) - French car manufacturers built 5.9 million vehicles in 2006, 2.3 percent fewer than in 2005, the French automobile association CCFA said on Monday.

PARIS, Feb 19, 2007 (AFP) - French car manufacturers built 5.9 million vehicles in 2006, 2.3 percent fewer than in 2005, the French automobile association CCFA said on Monday.

The number of cars built fell 2.7 percent to 5.0 million, with the remaining production being light utility or industrial vehicles.

Renault produced 5.3 percent fewer vehicles than in 2005 and PSA Peugeot Citroen made 0.7 percent fewer.
