French army admits killing four civilians in Afghanistan
The French army admitted Thursday that its troops accidentally killed four civilians in Afghanistan on April 6 in a missile attack targeting insurgents.
NATO reported on that date that an air strike by forces serving under its command in southern Afghanistan mistakenly killed four civilians including two women and a child.
Christophe Prazuck, a spokesman for the French army, which has a contingent taking part in the NATO mission, said on Thursday that the strike on that date had been a joint French-Afghan operation.
