PARIS, Dec 21 (AFP) - Gaz de France chief executive Jean-Francois Cirelli will meet Gazprom chief executive Alexei Miller in Paris Wednesday, a source said.

"The CEO of Gaz de France should meet the head of Gazprom, and this meeting could be followed by a conversation with Prime Minister Jean-Pierre Raffarin," the source said.

State-owned GDF imports 20 percent of its gas from Russia.

Cirelli met Miller in Moscow in September as part of a French delegation led by Nicolas Sarkozy, who was finance minister at the time.

Gazprom announced Tuesday that it planned to sell its oil unit Gazpromneft, subject to board approval. The Russian state owns 38 percent of Gazprom directly, though this will rise to over 50 percent once its planned merger with Russian energy group Rosneft is completed.
