French Foreign Minister Bernard Kouchner said France 'strongly condemns' the nuclear missile test by North Korea.

Abu Dhabi – French Foreign Minister Bernard Kouchner, on a visit to Abu Dhabi, said on Monday that Paris "strongly condemns" the nuclear missile test by North Korea.

Kouchner said North Korea's announcment about the underground test was "not good news."

"We strongly condemn this firing, and we are waiting to find out more about it from a technical and strategic point of view," he said.

North Korea said it carried out a second and more powerful nuclear test on Monday, defying international pressure to rein in its nuclear programmes after years of six-nation disarmament talks.
