France says sending another 150 troops to Ivory Coast
France is sending another 150 troops to Ivory Coast's main city Abidjan, bringing its force there charged mainly with protecting foreigners to around 1,650, the military said on Monday.
France already on Sunday bolstered its Licorne (Unicorn) mission in Ivory Coast with another 300 troops amid pitched battles between forces loyal to the internationally-recognised president and the incumbent clinging to power.
Former colonial power France has started gathering together its citizens in Abidjan with a view to their eventual evacuation, after foreigners were targeted during previous unrest.
