France will host a meeting of G20 finance ministers and central bank heads on February 18 and 19, the French economy ministry said on Wednesday.

France took over the presidency of the Group of 20 developed and major developing economic powers last week and will host the main G20 summit scheduled for November 2011 in the southern French town of Cannes.

French President Nicolas Sarkozy has vowed to push for measures to stabilise world currency and commodities markets, tax international financial transactions and reform world governance.
