France condemns 'cruel and cowardly' Morocco blast
France condemned a "cruel and cowardly" suspected suicide attack on Moroccan cafe Thursday and confirmed there were French casualties, President Nicolas Sarkozy's office said.
Sarkozy learnt "with consternation of the terrorist attack" on the Argana cafe in the main square of the city of Marrakesh, a favourite haunt of foreign tourists, his office said in a statement.
"He condemns with the greatest firmness this odious, cruel and cowardly act that has caused many casualties, including French citizens," it said, without elaborating on whether the French nationals had been wounded or killed.
Moroccan authorities have said that 11 foreigners and three Moroccans were killed in the blast.
