France calls on N.Korea to end 'provocations' after strike
France called on North Korea to end its provocations and firmly condemned Tuesday's deadly artillery strike on a South Korean border island, Foreign Minister Michele Alliot-Marie said.
"I condemn with the greatest firmness North Korean artillery fire targeting the island of Yeonpyeong which, according to the latest toll, killed two members of the South Korean military and wounded several South Korean civilians," she said in a statement.
"France calls on North Korea to end (its) provocations and refrain from any new act that could lead to a worsening of regional tensions," she said after the strike which killed two people and set off global alarm.
