France authenticates Al-Qaeda hostage death claim: official
France has established that a claim by Al-Qaeda's North African wing that it killed a French hostage is an authentic message from the group, a defence ministry official told AFP on Monday.
France "identified the claim of his death as having indeed been made by the leader of AQIM," Abu Musab Abdul Wadud, said the official, who asked not be named.
AQIM is the acronym for Al-Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb.
