France and Russia to hold security talks

MOSCOW, March 2 (AFP) - Acting Russian Defence Minister Sergei Ivanov is scheduled to travel to Paris Wednesday for a meeting of the Franco-Russian council on security cooperation, the defence ministry said Tuesday.

MOSCOW, March 2 (AFP) - Acting Russian Defence Minister Sergei Ivanov is scheduled to travel to Paris Wednesday for a meeting of the Franco-Russian council on security cooperation, the defence ministry said Tuesday.

It said the three-day visit was intended to enlarge military and technical cooperation between the two countries.

Ivanov is serving in an acting capacity after President Vladimir Putin dismissed the government on February 24.
