BRUSSELS — Confessed serial killer Michel Fourniret has admitted he had a list of foreign students enrolled at the University of Liège in Wallonia.
The list brought the French forest warden to an Asian girl who gave piano lessons to one of his children. He also contacted other students.
The revelations were made by French-language Belgian newspaper 'Le Soir' on Wednesday.
The Dinant public prosecution office reportedly requested the University of Liège to provide the names of other foreign students enrolled at the campus to investigate whether any of them had fallen victim to Fourniret.
Fourniret allegedly also combed the campus of the University of Louvain-la-Neuve for his victims.
At the Free University of Brussels in Jette — where the university's academic hospital is located — Fourniret is alleged to have tried to abduct a young female nurse.
Despite the fact he is accused of murders both in Belgium and France, justice authorities in the two countries agreed in June to try Fourniret in France.
The trial will be held in Charleville-Mezière, probably in the spring of 2006.
