Four workers for French aid group kidnapped in Afghanistan
Armed men have kidnapped four Afghans working for French aid group the Agency for Technical Cooperation and Development (ACTED) in Afghanistan's Faryab province, the group said Tuesday.
"Armed men kidnapped four of our Afghan employees late yesterday (Monday) afternoon, in the Faryab district" in northwestern Afghanistan, a source at the organisation's Paris headquarters said.
The four were taken while returning from conducting hygiene training at a mosque, the source said.
"We don't know any more," the source said, adding that "our teams in Kabul and Faryab are looking into it".
ACTED, which among other projects provides technical support to farmers and promotes hygiene in Afghanistan, employs 15 expatriates and 885 Afghans in the country, including 350 in Faryab alone.
