PARIS, Nov 10 (AFP) - Four aircraft will bring French nationals out of Ivory Coast Wednesday after the riots of recent days, the foreign ministry in Paris said.

"Four planes should take off from Abidjan during the day with a capacity of around 1,000 seats," said spokeswoman Cecile Pozzo di Borgo.

"The procedures we have put in place are aimed at getting out persons in difficulty who right now want to leave Abidan but cannot because regular air flights are stopped," she said.

"The number of these requests is still being evaluated," she said.

Some 14,000 French citizens are believed to be in Ivory Coast, most of them with dual nationality.

Earlier President Jacques Chirac called on the Ivorian government to "assume its responsibilities in the matter of public order."

Anti-French riots have followed France's destruction on Saturday of Ivory Coast's airforce - a move prompted by the killing of nine French peace-keepers.
