Meanwhile, an official from the Parisian club said that 12 of 18 buses carrying fans to the Velodrome Stadium were also stoned, with the back window of one of the vehicles being smashed.

Police said that one PSG fan received a slight head injury as a result.

Security is on high alert in light of past violence between fans from the clubs of France's two biggest cities and following the death Friday of a policeman in Italy as hooligans went on the rampage at a Sicilian derby.
