Ex-IMF chief's wife in court for bail hearing
Dominique Strauss-Kahn's wife, American-born French television journalist Anne Sinclair, attended a new bail hearing Thursday seeking to secure the former IMF chief's release from jail.
Wearing a dark skirt and jacket, Sinclair did not look at the journalists packing the benches as she arrived to hear if her 62-year-old husband would be allowed out of the notorious Rikers Island jail in New York pending trial.
A court policeman told Sinclair, who was accompanied by one of Strauss-Kahn's adult daughters, that she would only have to give the sign if she wished to be escorted out.
Strauss-Kahn is awaiting a grand jury decision on whether to indict him on charges of the alleged sexual assault and attempted rape on Saturday of a 32-year-old Manhattan hotel chambermaid.
He already had an earlier bail offer turned down on Monday.
